Actor Raashii Khanna is celebrated for her unconventional fashion choices and unapologetic self-expression. At 34 years old, and with over a decade in the film industry, she confidently states that she has never been one to follow fashion trends.

In a conversation with HTCity ShowStoppers, Khanna expressed her disregard for trends, saying, “I don’t care if someone comes and tells me, ‘Oh, this is the trend’. I’ll do what I like, I’ll do what I want, and I don’t want to follow anything. That’s what fashion is for me. I’ll do whatever works on my body.” She candidly admits that she doesn’t even keep up with current trends: “If you ask me what are the trends for 2024, I’ll not know it. I just do what I like.”

Raashii Khanna is also curious about exploring gender-fluid fashion, noting the rise of clothing that transcends traditional gender roles. “The area of fashion I want to explore is gender-fluid fashion, like clothing that can be worn by anyone, regardless of their gender identity,” she shares.

Preference for Understated Elegance

Known for her preference for muted colours, Khanna favours solid hues over complex patterns. “I like to wear solid colours. That’s just my style. I prefer to elevate my look with accessories rather than opting for styles such as print on print because I don’t understand it,” she explains.

Comfort and Personal Style

In a candid revelation, Khanna shares her love for loose, comfortable clothing, especially her pyjamas. “I do love wearing colours, but I prefer white, black, and grey. I’m shy and private, and I keep to myself. These colours don’t draw too much attention,” she admits, reflecting on her recent role in The Sabarmati Report.

Despite her preference for understated colours in her personal life, she acknowledges her vibrant on-screen presence. “If you see my Instagram pictures, you’ll see me wearing purples, pinks, and greens. So, when I’m in my comfort space, I like wearing greys, blacks, or whites,” she concludes.

Raashii Khan says she’s inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker

Khanna cites Sarah Jessica Parker as a major influence on her fashion sense. “I have always loved Sarah Jessica Parker’s style and sense. Anything she wore looked stunning because she exuded confidence,” Khanna states.

Incorporating Parker’s attitude into her style, Khanna emphasizes the importance of confidence in fashion: “I have realized that the thing about fashion is that no matter what you wear, if you don’t have the confidence to carry it, then nothing works. But if you have confidence, then everything works. As I have evolved as a person, my fashion choices have also evolved.”
